I really like this person but im not sure what's happening ?

Hey I really like this guy called Tristan and he's a year older than me and we used to talk and hug quit slot and after getting to know him I fell for him and he is fit and has a great personality and we have the same taste in music ... When I thought me and him had a connection going I was really happy then he got a girlfriend but now there's talk that they might break up and he's looking for someone younger and all my friends said it would be me because they know how much me and him get along and Im not sure hut we have this connection if you know how this feels and I think he likes me but we don't talk as much and hug instead he always hugs one of my best mates but we have eye connections and these. Moments when we don't realise were staring into each others eyes and I find it annoying how he just hugs her in front of me and I don't know if he's trying to be hard to get or make me keloid and here's words going round that he likes me and we'd make a cute couple but I don't know what to do now because we don't talk as much and hug but there's that spark still light ?
